      • Colophon reads: Venetiis in aedibus Aldi et Andreae soceri anno M. D. XIIII mense Octobri.
      • Some errors in foliation.
      • This is the 2nd Aldine edition of Virgil; probable date of imprint from Renouard and others sources listed.
      • Cf. "The Virgil of 1514," in New Aldine studies / H.G. Fletcher (San Francisco [Calif.] : B.M. Rosenthal, 1988), p. 120-121 for the differences between two eds. of Virgil, both dated October 1514; the second of these 1514 eds., bearing an open-mouth dolphin in the device, and lacking the 4 p. of errata at end, is generally thought to have been printed ca. 1520. Renouard and Adams give the date as 1519.
      • In this edition the two leaves placed after the colophon and before the leaf containing the device of Aldus are blank, since the errata, the table of which occupies those leaves in the edition of 1514, were corrected in this edition before going to press. The engraving of the dolphin in the device is the open-mouth dolphin.
