      • Aldine anchor-and-dolphin device on title-page and on verso of leaves [264] and 296.
      • Illustrated with one double-page map of Gaul and five additional single-page woodcuts of important places in Caesar’s conquests, explained in text by Giovanni Giocondo: "Avaricum", now Bourges (France) was the site of the siege of Avaricum in 52 B.C. during the Gallic War; and "Alexia", now Alise-Sainte-Reine (France), was the scene of the most decisive event of Julius Caesar’s invasion of Gaul; "Uxellodunum" was a fortified town which the Gauls attempted to defend against the Romans during Caesar’s Gallic War (51 B.C.); "Massilia", now Marseille, was the site of a siege and naval battle with the Romans during Caesar’s Civil War, and "Pons" shows the bridge Caesar built, allegedly in ten days, to cross the Rhine into Germania.
      • The plans of Massilia and Uxellodunum are labelled in ms. by Aldus, according to Renouard, needing clarification because they were printed in reverse sequence, and thus face the wrong descriptions; e.g. description of Uxellodunum faces woodcut of Massilia, and description of Massilia faces woodcut of Uxellodunum; see "Caesar’s Commentaries," in New Aldine studies / H.G. Fletcher (San Francisco [Calif.] : B.M. Rosenthal, 1988), p. 116-119.
      • The double-page map is meant to be hand tinted in six colours. Aldus explains the colour scheme in his preface to scholars, with the names of the colours in Greek and Latin.
      • Printed in italic type.
      • Capital spaces, with guide letters.
      • Includes Aldus’ glossary of place names in Latin, with their vernacular equivalents in French on leaves A5r-A6v.

      • This collection usually referred to as "Oratores Graeci", or sometimes as "Rhetorum Graecorum orationes."
      • In part 1, the title-page was printed and its verso left blank for the preface. Coming back to print the preface it was found to be too long for one page and therefore another double sheet was printed without pagination or signature. This was wrapped around leaves a2 and a7. The right half of the folded sheet was blank except for a note on the recto instructing the binder to cut the leaf out. This resulted in a first gathering (a) of 9 leaves, or 10 where this leaf has nevertheless been retained.

      • Imprint taken from the colophon at end of part 3 (sig. EE3 recto).
      • Part 1 has no colophon.
      • Colophon of part 2 reads: Venetiis apud Aldum, & Andream socerum mense Aprili. M.D.XIII.
      • Part 3 has two colophons: colophon on leaf nn3 recto reads: Venetiis apud Aldum, et Andream socerum mense April. M.D.XIII.; colophon on leaf EE3 recto reads: Venetiis in aedibus Aldi, et Andreae soceri. IIII nonarum Maij. M.DXIII.
      • Numerous errors in pagination, particularly in part 3.
      • Printer’s device on each title-page and on verso of final leaf.
      • Leaves n4 of part 1 and nn4 of part 3 are blank.
